Workers' Compensation Security Fund (WCSF)
The New Jersey Workers’ Compensation Security Fund (NJWCSF) was created by N.J.S.A. 34:15 – 103 et seq.
This statute establishes a pool of money to pay claims of insolvent workers’ compensation insurance carriers arising from
coverage of risks located or resident in New Jersey. Carriers authorized to transact the business of workers’ compensation
insurance in this state contribute to the NJWCSF.
In January 2010, legislation was enacted transferring responsibility for the administration of the NJWCSF to the Guaranty Association
NJ Department of Banking and Insurance Bulletin No. 10-04 - Transfer of the Management,
Administration, and Claims Activites of the Workers' Compensation Security Fund to the NJPLIGA
